History / Description: The bronze sculpture shows a boy who is cowering on the fountain column. The trough has the shape of a four-leaf clover. 

Special: The fountain can be visited only on weekdays during the day (at school operation).

History / Description: The water trough has no less than sixteen corners. Each second trough wall is provided with an image. It is a stone picture book for children. The plastic on the fountain column shows a girl in Black Forest costume. The fountain should be in the sign of human help after the second world war. The figure represents the symbol for charitable assistance with the flower in her right hand and was donated by the Baden neighborhood. 

Special: In the background is the church "Saint Clara", which came from the early 14th Century and was extended repeatedly since its creation.

History / Description: The second name "Spittelsprung Fountain" from the 13 Century, because at that time Spittelsprung (now Münsterberg) was home to a hospital. The trough has the shape of a square. In the column four water-spouting basilisks are attached. At the top of the column three dolphins holding a trident.

History / Description: The Elizabeth Fountain has two pools and fountains of the floor has three parts. The stone sculpture shows the St. Elizabeth (she lived from 1207 -. 1231 and aspired to voluntary poverty, she was canonized four years after her death and is considered the "patron saint of beggars.") With a pot of water and a loaf of bread in the hand. Under Elizabeth is a basilisk, which holds a Basler coat of arms. At the same height on the other hand, it has two bronze swans, flowing from their beaks the water. The lower tray receives its water as a dolphin-shaped with two sinks.
Special: A hundred meters from here is the Elizabeth Church, which was built between 1857 and 1864.

History / Description: The fish market is well into the professional world as the most beautiful Gothic fountain in Switzerland. 24 figures once adorned the fountain. Fortunately, today is still 22 (!) Get it. There are 13 angels, 6 and 3 Holy Prophet. The three main characters are Mary and Child, a scepter in his hand, Peter, standing with the key and the Evangelist John dar. The corner pillars of justice, perseverance and love. The wells must be maintained regularly with love. The last major renovation was in the 1971-1974 program, as the gilding had to be renewed.
Special: There was a long dispute over who should have because now built the well. Long thought to be it was Jacob Sarbach. In a book about Basel sculptures from the 15th and 16 Century could be convincing proof erbacht that it must be either John Parler (III). Slightly ironically, it was noted that Jacob could be Sarbach hardly more than responsible for the renovation ...

Spalenvorstadt - Schutzenmattstrasse

History / Description: The bottom of the column of the fountain is a replica of the "peasant dance" by Hans Holbein the Younger The column is crowned by a bagpiper. Basis for the piper for the artist was no doubt a dated from 1514 engraving by Albrecht Durer. The original of the bagpipe is preserved since 1885 at the Historical Museum.
Special: During the summer time, the bottom shell decorated with flowers.
