History / Description:
The water trough is octagonal and from the column stands a gargoyle. The fountain stands on the old town square in Kleinhueningen. Already in the year 828 the village "Kleinhueningen" is mentioned. In 1908 this district, which was characterised in recent centuries mainly by fishing, "incorporated" in the city of Basel. Today a large part of this area is occupied by industry.
Special:
Nearby is the "triangle". This is a metal pylon, which is to highlight the intersection between the Swiss, German and French border. There you have the opportunity to take in some port air.
