Special: Isaac Iselin (1728 - 1782) lived from 1765 in Reischacherhof, built in the middle of the 17th Century. Iselin was town clerk and writer. He did a lot to improve the situation of the working day. In 1777 he founded the "Society for the Promotion of Good and Charitable", the GGG, with like-minded Baslers. The company still exists today and it emerged from various institutions.These are the Terms and Crafts School, Music Academy, the General Libraries of the GGG and many other charities.
