History / Description: The fountain of limestone has a water spout. On the outside walls of a relief Alfred Wymann is to find a girl on the head, a rooster and a sun to represent.
Special: From 1449 to the 19th Century have taken place in this area shooting practice of the fire shooters. Because of increased risk for nearby residents the shooting range had to relocated to Allschwil / BL. In 1899, the park was redesigned. A part of the area of today's Schützenmattpark and the other the opposite sports ground "Schützenmatte" is. Even today, the nearby "clubhouse", is the company building the fire shooters.
